Rope access work confirms its dynamism

France Travaux sur Cordes (Rope Access Work) is publishing today the results of its 2025 national census, conducted to create a qualitative and representative database of the profession. The census reveals that 902 companies carry out rope access work in France, 848 of which specialize exclusively in this activity.

The sector employs 11.384 people, including 6.552 employees in specialized companies and 4.832 temporary workers, mobilized to meet fluctuating demand depending on the projects.

On the economic front, rope access companies generated over €1.154.736 in revenue in 2025, while temporary employment agencies associated with the sector achieved €106.613 in consolidated revenue.

A sector essential to the upkeep and maintenance of infrastructure

The rope access sector confirms its strategic role in the upkeep, maintenance and repair of structures, in the industrial, infrastructure, heritage, energy and civil engineering sectors.

Clients rely on rope access solutions to achieve:

In this context, France Travaux sur Cordes issues accreditation to training organizations, in order to guarantee a consistent and recognized level of requirement across the entire territory.

To date, 17 training centers are approved by France Travaux sur Cordes.

The certification process allows:

to start in the profession with the CQP Working on ropes – initial level;
to improve your skills with the CQP Working on ropes – advanced level;
to supervise operations with the CQP Supervise work on ropes;
to organise the worksites with the CQP Organising rope access work on site;

In 2025, 1.978 candidates obtained a CQP certification, confirming the attractiveness and dynamism of the sector. The number of candidates admitted to the CQP Rope Access – Advanced level increased from 276 to 419, illustrating real opportunities for career advancement and professional development.
