Rockwool collected over 5.000 tonnes of rock wool in 2025 through its Rockcycle program

In this context, ROCKWOOL, the world leader in rock wool insulation, is accelerating its Rockcycle program dedicated to the collection and recycling of rock wool.

Rockcycle: a collection of more than 5,000 tonnes in 2025, an increase of 25%

A pioneer in materials recycling, ROCKWOOL launched the Rockcycle program in France in 2012, a service dedicated to the collection and recycling of rock wool products from construction sites. By 2025, this system, which has now been extended to renovation and demolition sites, had enabled the recycling of more than 5,000 tons of rock wool in France, representing a 25% increase compared to 2024.

Recycling has always been a strategic priority for ROCKWOOL. In 2025, the group made progress towards its goal of extending the Rockcycle service to 30 countries by 2030, by rolling out the program in one additional country.

2026: Rockcycle expands its service to adapt to different types of construction sites.

In 2026, the Rockcycle program takes another step forward by diversifying its collection methods. Until now, collection relied primarily on "Big Bags." The service now adapts to all types of construction sites by offering collection solutions tailored to their size, making Rockcycle accessible to small projects managed by tradespeople. Collection points are also available directly at certain retailers.

The recovered rock wool is then reintegrated into the production cycle, thus contributing to raw material conservation. In its production process, ROCKWOOL is also able to recycle both materials recovered from the market and materials from other industries that would otherwise not have been reused.

It is therefore legitimate for ROCKWOOL to position itself as a key player in the circular economy. Through the expansion of our Rockcycle program, we aim to facilitate the collection and recycling of rock wool and construction waste directly on construction sites. By multiplying the solutions, we support tradespeople and building professionals so that they can contribute to making rock wool an infinite resource.”

To facilitate low-carbon construction, ROCKWOOL has made the CO2 x Rockcycle Calculator available to building professionals. This tool calculates both the amount of rock wool waste generated during an installation project and the total carbon footprint of ROCKWOOL solutions. Professionals can then estimate the number of skips and collection trips required for waste removal and easily access the Rockcycle service.
