Rockwool files new building permit for its factory in Soissonnais

In a difficult industrial context, marked by factory closures and job losses, this project is of particular importance. The future rock wool insulation plant will contribute to French reindustrialization by creating 130 direct jobs and more than 400 indirect jobs, a valuable contribution to boosting the local economy and strengthening the industrial fabric of the region.

At a time when France must accelerate the energy renovation of its real estate portfolio and promote circularity in construction, this new manufacturing unit will produce more than 100.000 tonnes of rock wool, a fire-resistant and recyclable thermo-acoustic insulation, in high demand in France.

This new plant will be based on cutting-edge electric fusion technology supported by ADEME as part of the industry decarbonization measures of the “France Relance” Plan.

The project has already obtained its environmental and health authorization. Its instruction by the competent authorities, in particular the ARS and the DREAL, guarantees strict compliance with all health and environmental standards.

This new building permit updates the one initially filed in September 2019. It incorporates the latest regulatory developments and clarifies compatibility with the Local Urban Planning Plan (PLU). It also includes a new green roof improving its integration into the environment.
