Rockwool expands its Rockmur panel range with a new 40 mm thickness

One in two French people are in fact exposed to it at least once a week (ROCKWOOL x IPSOS study). To reduce noise-related inconvenience, ROCKWOOL, the world leader in stone wool insulation, has expanded its Rockmur range with a new 40 mm thickness. Specially designed for internal insulation of counter-partition walls, this range now benefits from an enhanced offering to simplify its installation. A solution for comfortable living all year round, it provides sound reduction of -38 dB, the equivalent of the noise of a refrigerator in operation.

Rockmur in 40 mm, optimized acoustic comfort

Composed of semi-rigid rock wool panels, coated or not with polyethylene kraft, Rockmur is specially designed for the interior insulation of counter-partition walls. Thanks to its materials and technical properties, it constitutes a high-performance, breathable, non-hydrophilic, recyclable, incombustible and secure insulation solution.

The 40 mm thick Rockmur panels ensure a significant reduction in noise pollution, whether from outside noise or sounds between different rooms, reinforcing the overall comfort of the occupants. This is essential given that 60% of French people report being regularly disturbed in their activities due to noise. Noise pollution has an impact on their health (anxiety, stress, sleep and concentration problems) and pushes 20% of them to stop working from home. Better installation comfort

Designed to simplify the work of professionals, Rockmur 40 mm offers improved installation comfort thanks to its density of 40 kg/m³ and its semi-rigid hold. Easy to cut and pleasant to the touch, it allows for simple, fast and safe handling on construction sites. Its design also facilitates the passage of electrical conduits and limits internal surface losses, making it ideal for renovations or new constructions. These practical advantages, combined with acoustic performance, guarantee efficient installation and long-lasting results.

A non-combustible, non-hydrophilic and recyclable solution

Derived from volcanic rock, stone wool offers essential technical properties for durable and safe insulation. ROCKWOOL insulation products are non-combustible and can withstand temperatures up to 1000°C. Combined with careful installation, they can contain and prevent the spread of a fire. Non-hydrophilic, it does not retain moisture, thus preventing the risk of condensation and mold, while ensuring consistent performance over time. Finally, this material is infinitely recyclable. Thanks to its Rockcycle service, offered in France for over 10 years, ROCKWOOL collects and recycles rock waste to produce new insulation. This service has enabled the collection and recycling of over 4000 tons of stone wool on the French market during the year 2024.
