Rockwool France accelerates its sustainable trajectory and unveils its Sustainability Spotlight 2025

ROCKWOOL France confirms once again the strength of its commitment to CSR with the EcoVadis Platinum medal (87/100) and is in the Top 1% of global companies assessed.

In 2025, ROCKWOOL recycled more than 5.000 tonnes of rock wool in France, an increase of 25% in one year, and announced the decarbonization of its historic site in Saint-Éloy-les-Mines (63).

The ROCKWOOL Group is making progress on 5 of its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Intermediate Targets (SBTi).

Structuring investments to decarbonize the Saint-Éloy-les-Mines site (63)

By 2028, ROCKWOOL's site in Puy-de-Dôme will see its CO2 emissions reduced by a factor of 2,5, representing a 60% decrease. A €100 million investment was announced in 2025 at the Choose France Summit to electrify two of the three production lines; the third is already electrified.

ROCKWOOL France strengthens its Rockcycle program and increases the amount of recycled rock wool by 25% in one year

A pioneer in materials recycling, ROCKWOOL launched its Rockcycle program in France in 2012, quickly becoming an industry benchmark. Today, this service collects and recycles rock wool waste from construction, renovation, and demolition sites. By 2025, over 5.000 tons of rock wool had been recycled in France. The Rockcycle system is also evolving in 2026, diversifying its collection methods to adapt to all types of construction sites.

Rockwool Group's CSR Progress

The ROCKWOOL Group measures its sustainability progress according to two complementary benchmarks: the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030, and those validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), an organization that certifies that companies' emission reduction targets are scientifically consistent with the Paris Agreement.

Sustainable Development Goals for 2030: Based on 2015 figures, ROCKWOOL aims to reduce its Scope 1 and 2 CO₂ emission intensity by 25% per tonne of rock wool produced by 2025. The group has reduced its production waste sent to landfill by 54%, and 25 countries now have access to the Rockcycle recycling service. Furthermore, the group has reduced its water consumption per tonne of rock wool produced by 13%.

SBTi intermediate targets to be achieved by 2034: compared to 2024, the group has reduced its absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 20%, on a target of -38%.
