Rockwool's CSR policy receives the highest distinction with the Ecovadis Platinum medal

ROCKWOOL, a world leader in rock wool insulation solutions, is committed to a voluntary approach to CSR and sustainable development. Its insulation solutions already have a positive impact by reducing building energy costs and protecting occupants. But beyond that, the company is continuously working to reduce its environmental footprint while adhering to the highest social standards.

EcoVadis once again recognizes ROCKWOOL's results in terms of environment, ethics, social and human rights, and responsible purchasing.

According to Matthieu Biens, Marketing and Development Director for ROCKWOOL Southern Europe: "With this ranking in the top 1% of EcoVadis, we highlight our ongoing commitment to CSR and the effectiveness of our action plans."

Ambitious goals on major environmental issues

The ROCKWOOL Group has committed since 2023 to achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, with an intermediate target of a 50% reduction in its greenhouse gas emissions (scopes 1 and 2) by 2034.

In France, this commitment translates into a €100 million investment in the electrification of the Saint-Éloy-les-Mines plant. This project will reduce the site's carbon emissions by 60% by 2028, thus reaffirming its local roots and consolidating ROCKWOOL's leadership in the energy transition.

Circular economy: more than 5,000 tonnes of rock wool recycled in France

Infinitely recyclable, rock wool is at the heart of ROCKWOOL's circularity strategy. Since 2012, ROCKWOOL France has offered its customers Rockcycle, a collection and recycling service for rock wool offcuts. Initially dedicated to construction sites, Rockcycle now also covers renovation and demolition projects. By 2025, ROCKWOOL France had recycled over 5.000 tons of rock wool, representing a 25% increase compared to 2024.

The system is also evolving in 2026, diversifying its collection methods to adapt to all types of construction sites, including small craft projects, thus making recycling accessible to all.

A continued commitment

Working conditions, employee protection, skills development, and risk prevention are all positive points also highlighted by EcoVadis regarding the social policy aspect of ROCKWOOL France.

The company is also committed, through a strict code of conduct applied internally and with its suppliers, to ensuring respect for ethical rules, social rights, and human rights. To achieve these results, the ROCKWOOL factory in Saint-Éloy-les-Mines relies, among other things, on four international certifications:

• ISO 9001 (quality management)
• ISO 14001 (environmental management)
• ISO 50001 (energy management)

ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety management). ROCKWOOL confirms once again that its commitment to decarbonization, the circular economy and human rights is not an option, but the foundation of its strategy.
