Real estate diagnostic professionals are calling for the industry to unite to influence future decisions and denounce DPE bashing.

The measures envisaged in the ten ministerial proposals will have a major impact on the industry. Faced with these challenges, it is essential that diagnosticians, certification bodies, analysis laboratories, and training centers speak with one voice to advocate for realistic solutions adapted to the realities on the ground.

Joining forces for fair and effective regulation

SIDIANE welcomes the Minister's initiative to strengthen the reliability of the Energy Performance Diagnosis (EPD) and combat fraud. However, the organization must ensure that the decisions taken do not weaken diagnostic professionals by introducing excessively complex, costly, or inappropriate requirements.

SIDIANE reiterates that reforms must be based on three fundamental principles: simplicity, efficiency, and economic viability. Overly burdensome or poorly calibrated regulations risk harming the profession while failing to achieve the set objectives.

Standing up against DPE bashing and opportunistic interests

Beyond the ongoing reforms, SIDIANE strongly denounces those who fuel DPE bashing under the guise of ethics, while they are only pursuing media and commercial interests. These unfounded attacks weaken the industry and foster harmful mistrust among owners and real estate professionals.

The DPE is an essential tool for the energy transition and must be defended objectively. Rather than discrediting the entire profession, it is essential to work collectively to improve it, relying on pragmatic and proven solutions.

A call for mobilization of all stakeholders

To advocate for balanced solutions, professionals must structure their mobilization and engage in a strong dialogue with public authorities. SIDIANE therefore calls on all stakeholders—independent diagnosticians, networks, certification and training organizations—to come together under a common banner to be a driving force for proposals and ensure an appropriate regulatory framework.

All stakeholders must make their voices heard to:

• Ensure regulations that make all stakeholders responsible, not just diagnosticians;
• Favor pragmatic solutions, such as automatic anomaly detection;
• Strengthen sanctions for unscrupulous diagnosticians;
• Strengthen the supervision of training and certification bodies to weed out the few black sheep;
• Avoid excessively restrictive measures that could penalize activity without real gain in reliability.
