"R5" gauge: the Saugnac self-contained and compact inclinometer

The R5 Gauge – Connected Inclinometer was designed to accurately measure changes in inclination along two axes. Readings can be configured at suitable intervals, from a few minutes to several hours, depending on your needs. The device then saves this information to its local memory and automatically transmits it to the Saugnac app.

Compact and self-contained, it installs quickly on the surface to be monitored and its configuration is done in a few clicks via a QR code. Once in operation, it functions continuously and allows remote viewing of recorded measurements, without regular on-site intervention.

Key features and operation

To function, the connected inclinometer incorporates three sensors:

• a two-axis tilt sensor offering a resolution of 0,01°;
• an ambient temperature sensor;
• and a humidity sensor.

This combination of data makes it possible to analyze not only the movements of a structure but also the surrounding conditions.

Its battery life (estimated between 2 and 8 years, or even more, depending on the settings) offers great flexibility of use. The device connects to the LTE-M / NB-IoT network, a technology dedicated to connected objects, which covers almost all of France and all European countries.

A practical tool in the field

The R5 Gauge comes with a bracket and the necessary screws, making it easy to attach to various types of surfaces, solid or hollow. In situations where mechanical mounting is not possible, the bracket can be fixed with adhesive. Designed to withstand outdoor conditions, its polycarbonate housing has an IP65 rating and remains functional between -30°C and +70°C.

The Saugnac application, accessible from a computer or smartphone, allows users to view and analyze the collected measurements. Users can generate graphs, export data, define alert thresholds, and share a secure link providing access to the readings. For situations requiring enhanced monitoring, the "Monitoring+" mode can be activated to temporarily increase the frequency of measurements and transmissions.
