The work that began in September 2023 will be completed by the end of the year. To date, the total installation of 3.724 meters of ECODREN drains of different diameters is underway. This project represents the recovery of 1.408.548 recycled bottles, thus contributing to the preservation of the environment.
Polieco ECODREN corrugated drains: technical performance and respect for the environment for optimal management of rainwater

Made from 100% recycled high-density polyethylene, sourced exclusively from selective collection, and fully recyclable, Polieco's ECODREN drains are particularly suitable for drainage of rainwater in civil, road and rail networks, as well as infiltration systems. As part of the development of the cycle path, the ditch along the road was equipped with drains in accordance with the following specifications: Ø400: 400 ml, Ø500: 400 ml, Ø600: 2 ml, Ø600: 800 ml, Total: 324 ml.
The advantages of the ECODREN range from Polieco:
This range is distinguished by several significant advantages: maximum water capture capacity thanks to the specific shape of the tube, a wide range of diameters from 110 mm (OD) to 1200 mm (ID) with numerous fittings and parts available, as well as a drainage surface greater than the 50 cm² required by standard NF P16-351.
The entire ECODREN range is also characterized by SN8 rigidity (8 kN/m²), ensuring optimum reliability and durability, while allowing use for all applications, including those requiring resistance to heavy rolling loads.
From an environmental point of view, these drains offer – thanks to their original material – an alternative with a low carbon footprint, thus contributing to the decarbonization objectives of each project.
Polieco also provides a Recycled Bottle Equivalent Certificate (CEBR), allowing its customers to communicate the positive environmental impact of their choices.
For Nicolas Vollerin, Technical and Communication Director of Polieco France: "Our ECODREN range was selected to meet the requirements of an eco-responsible construction site integrating green mobility solutions. This large-scale project is distinguished in particular by the remarkable use of 3.724 m of drains of different diameters, corresponding to the recycling of 1.408.548 HDPE bottles, which represents the equivalent of the annual waste produced by 43.440 French people. We would also like to highlight our collaboration with our distributor Pum, in particular with their Toulouse agency and of course Xavier Goby of Eiffage Route Grand-Sud, who actively contribute to the promotion and enhancement of our products with low environmental impacts."
EIFFAGE ROUTE chooses POLIECO France: a sustainable and effective strategy
Eiffage ROUTE's decision to select Polieco for the execution of this project was motivated by several determining criteria. After an in-depth consultation, several key reasons led to this choice, including:
- The location of the manufacturing plant: since the drains are manufactured in France, the geographical proximity facilitates supply, particularly for high delivery rates by complete sowing. In addition, the “Made in France” criterion was essential for Eiffage ROUTE.
- The circular economy and the use of recycled and recyclable materials: as part of its objective of reducing the carbon impact of its purchases by 30% by 2030, the Eiffage Group favors suppliers who use materials recovered and transformed in France. Polieco, by using recycled materials, perfectly meets this objective, compared to virgin materials.
- The required technique: the drains offered by Polieco meet the required technical requirements, particularly in terms of resistance and capture capacity, and exceed the regulatory criteria in force.
- Communication and exchanges: Eiffage ROUTE has been working with Polieco for several years on various projects aimed at developing low-carbon solutions for rainwater management. The technical and environmental responses provided by Polieco have not only helped promote these products but also highlighted the associated environmental issues, through documents such as calculation notes, FDES (Environmental and Health Data Sheets) which mainly measure the carbon impact linked to the implementation of tubes and drains made in MPR, but also the CEBR (Recycled Bottle Equivalent Certificate) which links the quantity of tubes installed to the equivalent of recycled HDPE bottles.
For Xavier GOBY, Eiffage Route Grand-Sud: "We are satisfied with Polieco's product, of French origin and made from recycled materials, which is fully in line with Eiffage's decarbonization policy. We are committed to promoting ecological alternatives, such as R-HDPE pipes, replacing concrete pipes. The project in Muret illustrates this commitment to more ecological solutions. Polieco's corrugated pipes, with a low carbon footprint, are particularly suitable for rainwater management thanks to their drainage capacity, which is superior to that of many competitors. In addition, our long-standing partnership with the Pum agency in Toulouse Sud and Polieco allows us to benefit from great responsiveness in terms of manufacturing and delivery.
For Mickaël CONTE, site manager: "The close relationship with the Polieco teams has made it possible to streamline exchanges and maintain a sustained delivery rate. The team is very satisfied with the products used, both for the quality of the sockets and for the impeccable and constant flatness of the pipes. After more than 3,7 km of camera inspection, no defects were found. This operation was a real success for us, with a result that fully satisfies both the customer and the company."
