Pascal Casanova is appointed President of the French Federation of Tiles & Bricks

Pascal Casanova joined Edilians Group in March 2020. He brings over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, gained on-site as well as in R&D and in general management positions in France and internationally. A graduate of École Polytechnique and École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, he possesses a technical, managerial, and strategic vision that he intends to use to support the collective efforts of the profession.

Continuing the work of his predecessors, Pascal Casanova intends to represent an industry fully committed to the energy transition of its processes and to promote ever more affordable, responsible and sustainable construction.

This election takes place in a particular context: the FFTB is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year. This milestone testifies to the sector's long-standing and enduring presence in the French industrial landscape, through companies established at the heart of local communities, often for several generations.

For Pascal Casanova: “Today, 94% of the tiles and bricks used in France are manufactured in our country, from clay, a raw material extracted locally from the heart of the regions where we build to provide protection and comfort to residents. Tiles and bricks contribute to the richness and diversity of our built landscapes. They are strong markers of the architectural identity of French regions. Our industry has innovated to meet the new requirements of construction, particularly those of the RE2020 regulation, while preserving this unique character. It thus demonstrates that it is possible to reconcile environmental performance, construction quality, and harmonious integration into the existing living environment. At a time when the role of industry is finally recognized as a key driver of the economic resilience of France and, more broadly, of Europe, our companies demonstrate every day their contribution to the dynamism of the regions where they operate.” They sustain a local ecosystem that generates activity and employment: at our production sites, of course, but also among bricklayers, roofers, plasterers, carpenters, and within distribution networks. All these players contribute directly to the development of our local economies. Despite the profound crisis affecting the entire construction sector, our profession remains resolutely committed, both collectively and individually, to innovating and adapting its processes in order to accelerate the decarbonization of its activities. The objectives we have set for ourselves in our decarbonization roadmap are ambitious: to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by more than 30% by 2030. In this demanding context, collective action is essential. It is together that we will be able to meet the industrial, environmental, and economic challenges ahead.
