Paris announces the postponement of its limited circulation zone after the 2024 Olympics

“I accepted, at the suggestion of the police prefect, that we could go beyond the Olympic and Paralympic Games, because during this period, in any case, part of the Parisian territory will be restricted to traffic,” he said. announced Anne Hidalgo during the presentation of the City's next climate plan.

The implementation of this ZTL was to take place “early 2024”, after an initial postponement of a year and a half decided in 2022.

The ZTL is supposed to apply to the Paris Center sector, corresponding to the first four arrondissements, and part of the XNUMXth, XNUMXth and XNUMXth arrondissements.

Motorized vehicles could no longer enter to cross it only, so-called transit traffic which, according to the town hall, represents half of the traffic.

Its implementation and perimeter have long been the subject of difficult negotiations with the police headquarters, whose headquarters are located on the Île de la Cité, in the heart of the future zone.

“We are still working on its outlines and controls but it will be well implemented the day after the Olympic and Paralympic Games,” said Anne Hidalgo.

The Paris Paralympic Games will end on September 8, 2024.
