The largest European producer of renewable energies, the Norwegian Statkraft, announced on Friday November 17 the acquisition of the Spanish Enerfin, estimated at 1,8 billion euros.
The acquisition of Enerfin from its parent company, Elecnor Group, will bring Statkraft 1,5 GW of wind and solar power installed or under construction, as well as a portfolio of projects, in Spain and Brazil.
The operation values the company at 1,8 billion euros, debt included, Statkraft, a group 100% owned by the Norwegian state, said in a press release.
It "strengthens Statkraft's position as the leading producer of renewable energy in Europe and places the company among the top ten producers of wind energy in Spain, thus complementing our portfolio of solar projects in the country", commented the director general, Christian Rynning-Tønnesen.
“The acquisition will also position Statkraft among the three largest wind energy producers in Brazil, with an installed capacity of more than 1,5 GW,” he added.
Mainly present in hydroelectricity, the Norwegian group present in 21 countries aims to grow in wind power, solar power and storage batteries.
