The new software portfolio further highlights the full power of the Eplan platform and, thanks to numerous enhancements, offers a complete and comprehensive solution for specific application areas. Moreover, the Eplan platform integrates seamlessly into existing IT environments.
Companies are currently facing enormous challenges in successfully configuring their operations and securing them for the future. Solutions provider Eplan helps its customers shorten their time to value. To this end, comprehensive solutions have been created, tailored to the tasks and workflows of different industries and customer segments. Customers can use these solutions immediately, fully optimized for basic engineering, electrical engineering, and control cabinet manufacturing, without having to evaluate and procure additional modules and options. "We have systematically aligned our product portfolio with our customers' tasks and workflows," explains Jan Fleming, Vice President of Customer Journey at Eplan. The Eplan 2026 platform offers maximum support to users in their respective areas of application. The result: greater simplicity in engineering and, at the same time, valuable additional services that help customers increase efficiency.
Simply more efficient
All products in the Eplan 2026 platform have been completely redesigned and their functionality expanded. They can now be considered the new benchmark in electrical engineering. The launch is accompanied by a completely revamped product range. Extensions previously available as options are now integrated as standard in certain software versions. The range has been tailored to the specific requirements of certain market segments: Eplan Preplanning meets the needs of operators and planners. Control cabinet construction is planned using Eplan Pro Panel, and machine builders will find all the relevant functionalities for their tasks in Eplan Electric P8. New features include cloud-based Eplan collaboration applications, the Eplan Data Portal, eStock parts management, and eManage for data management, all of which are included in the range of services offered for Eplan Electric P8, Eplan Pro Panel, and Eplan Preplanning. Extensions previously optional are now included in certain configuration levels. User processes thus become even more efficient and consistent. This applies to all phases of the project and to different sectors, from concept development to detailed engineering and manufacturing, including commissioning and operation.
Assistance is also available for operators.
For example, Eplan Preplanning now also covers electrical engineering requirements in the preliminary planning phase in the form of single-line diagrams, in addition to integrating preplanning data and professionally creating P&ID diagrams. Thus, besides its use by system integrators, the software can now also be used by operators and planners in basic engineering. Users benefit from pre-configured content such as symbols, data examples, and forms specifically tailored to tasks in machine construction, control cabinet and switchgear engineering, energy technologies, and building automation.
Flexible with or without the use of cloud services
Depending on their configuration level, customers can now also collaborate internally and externally using Eplan Cloud: cloud-based applications for component management, data management, and visualizing Eplan projects using the Viewer are now included. Once their licenses for the Eplan 2026 platform are activated, users have access to all the extended features. They simply need to install the new software, at no extra cost.
According to Jan Fleming, Vice President of Customer Journey at Eplan: "The Eplan 2026 platform offers maximum support to users in their respective fields of application. The result: greater simplicity in engineering and, at the same time, valuable additional services that help our customers gain efficiency."
Connections that provide added value
The new Eplan platform also integrates with ERP and PDM systems via standardized interfaces. Digital data from electrical engineering can also be used directly in the manufacture of control cabinets and by wiring machines and industrial systems. In the field of automation technologies, commercially available PLC planning and programming systems can also be connected directly via standard formats.
Faster access to relevant data
Another important new feature is the ability to directly select component data from the Eplan component management system within the data portal. Users no longer need to switch between the platform and the portal. A single click in Eplan Electric P8 takes them directly to the component selection screen in the portal, allowing them to immediately download the required project data. This also applies to cloud-based component management. Furthermore, components can be described even more precisely thanks to over 400 new properties.
Everything at a glance in the Download Center
Last but not least, the Eplan Download Center is now accessible to all Eplan users. At eplan.com, users have direct access to software, tools, helpful online learning content, and licensing information. They will also find information about their current version and individual updates, allowing them to upgrade to newer versions with a single click.
