Macron will chair a Choose France summit for French investors on November 17th

This summit will bring together 200 project leaders, large corporations, SMEs, and innovative startups at the Maison de la Chimie in Paris and for a dinner at the Élysée Palace. It will also showcase French investment funds.

"The president has been very active in recent years in making France a country that is reindustrializing," the Elysée emphasizes.

"The momentum is slowing down and is difficult," a presidential advisor conceded, pointing to the chemical, automotive and agri-food sectors.

But France is doing better in terms of growth - with 0,5% in the third quarter - than Germany or Italy, which has "almost half the growth and twice the inflation", he noted.

It also remains the most attractive country for foreign investment, he noted, with commitments amounting to 40,8 billion euros, including 20 billion during the last Choose France international in May.

This edition will include new investment announcements as well as commitments already known such as the brake factory that Safran decided in July to build in France rather than in Canada, the Elysée indicated.

This meeting will take place while France is still mired in political crisis, nearly 18 months after the dissolution of the National Assembly, which has not resulted in any stable majority and has led to inextricable disagreements at every budget debate.

"It aims to show that, apart from the political and media debates, there are also companies in this country that continue to invest, that continue to believe in it," the Elysée Palace believes.
