France's inter-municipal authorities are measuring the gravity of the period of parliamentary instability our country has been experiencing for over a year. The inability of political forces to agree on a government proposal has and will continue to have serious consequences for the French people, who are eagerly awaiting a resolution to this crisis.
The elected representatives of the Intercommunalities of France, as they do every day in their actions and in their governance, call on national political leaders to find a path of compromise to allow our country to move forward.
In our territories, inter-municipal elected officials bring together mayors of all political persuasions. They succeed in building consensus that transcends political divisions because they are on the front lines facing our fellow citizens, who demand that we work together to serve the public interest.
The elected representatives of the Intercommunalities of France therefore solemnly ask national political leaders to sit around the table as many of them have already done when they held local mandates and thus rise to the occasion.
