The AGEC law, passed almost unanimously by Parliament in 2020, mandated the creation of an eco-contribution on all materials in order to finally establish a local collection network and free take-back of waste materials collected selectively throughout the French territory, in order to eradicate illegal dumping which cost the life of a mayor in 2019 and develop the recycling economy of the country's largest waste deposit.
