Lecornu will be in Rosny-sous-Bois on Friday to present a housing "recovery" plan

The Prime Minister, who will be accompanied by five ministers --Vincent Jeanbrun (Housing), Roland Lescure (Economy), Françoise Gatel (Regional Planning and Decentralization), Serge Papin (SMEs) and Maud Bregeon (spokesperson)-- intends to present the government's "responses" to the crisis in the sector.

This plan, presented as "the most ambitious ever conceived in over 10 years," aims to "massively revive construction and renovation." And "faced with the urgency, the government intends to act quickly, decisively, and pragmatically," writes the Prime Minister's office.

The levers used to achieve this will be "unprecedented financial support for social landlords", "French savings to revive rental investment" and "a timetable of commitments to simplify real estate projects", relying on local elected officials and stakeholders in the sector, the Prime Minister's services explain.

Sébastien Lecornu will thus make his first trip since the compromise reached with the socialists, presented on Friday, which should prevent him from having his budget censured.

A new rental investment scheme, which could be named after Vincent Jeanbrun, is among the amendments adopted on Tuesday in the "revenue" section of the budget, on which the government has committed its responsibility by using Article 49.3.

This is an improved version of the "private landlord status", a tax advantage designed to encourage individuals to invest in housing to rent out.

This scheme will "allow for the construction of nearly 50.000 additional homes per year", according to the Minister of Housing, and should generate more than 500 million euros in tax revenue.

A right-wing proposal on housing adopted Tuesday in its first reading by the Senate could "feed" this stimulus plan, according to Vincent Jeanbrun.

Points of contention with the left include a relaxation of the SRU law (Solidarity and Urban Renewal), which imposes a minimum percentage of social housing on urban municipalities, as well as a strengthening of the power of mayors in the allocation of social housing.
