L’atelier des Chefs is expanding its range of training courses by launching its “CAP Maçon” preparation program.

This innovative 500-hour training course combines 100% online theoretical learning and practical exercises to be carried out at home, with the support and guidance of a coach as well as a masonry expert (with over 25 years of experience!) and a dedicated teaching team.

It is aimed at both those in employment retraining, job seekers and renovation and construction enthusiasts.

A level 3 diploma recognized by the State, the Certificat d'Aptitude Professionnelle Mason offers its holder the opportunity to work in the construction sector for new or renovation work: construction of individual houses, collective buildings, industrial, tertiary or agricultural buildings. The holder of the CAP Mason will also be able to contribute to the creation of coatings (facade coatings, waterproofing coatings and screeds), and, in the more specific context of the energy transition, the implementation of organic and/or geo-sourced materials.

This new training will enable learners to acquire the following skills:

• Masonry techniques for creating reinforced concrete structures, brick or stone walls and other screeds, in accordance with the rules of the art,
• Reading plans and preparing the site to know how to install foundations and organize your work,
• Installation of insulation and coatings to meet thermal or aesthetic performance requirements,
• Mastery of bio-sourced materials and renovation techniques for old buildings, in line with current environmental issues.

3 key success factors

• 10% theory: complete theoretical training available on the training platform bringing together varied, fun and innovative content (videos, photos, quizzes, etc.) to provide all the keys to the world of construction.
• 20% support: support from industry professionals to guide and motivate throughout the training.
• 70% practice: a wide variety of exercises (around thirty in total!) to learn and master the techniques learned... like a "Boss": building a wall with a corner return and jambs; making a reinforced concrete lintel; a staircase or even a single-layer coating, etc.

At the end of their training, learners will be able to work as a mason, mason's assistant (construction company, renovation, traditional construction) or, if they wish, start their own business. Last but not least, various optional modules can also be pursued such as electrical certification, working at height or business creation for those who wish to go even further.
