Knauf HydroProof®: the solution for the most demanding humid environments

It is notably used for the construction of exterior ceilings in all types of buildings, or indoors for partitions and ceilings in particularly demanding wet areas; for example in communal showers and changing rooms, aquatic centers and spas, or swimming pools and areas with direct communication with the pool.

Knauf HydroProof^® : a new DTA for interior partitions and linings

Complementing the CSTB Technical Approval Documents (DTA) already available for interior and exterior ceiling applications, a brand new DTA now addresses installation in partitions and linings, with single or double facing. This new DTA strengthens Knauf HydroProof's position.^® as a reference technical solution for the design of environments with high humidity, thus further securing the choice of the system by specifiers, designers and large plastering companies, guaranteeing them durable and insurable works.

Available in two thicknesses (12,5 mm and 18 mm), Knauf HydroProof panels^® BA13 and HydroProof^® BA18 plasterboards thus see their use extended and certified. They prove to be compatible for the construction of ceilings, distribution partitions or counter-partitions in a wide range of buildings, whether they are homes, Public Access Buildings (ERP) or buildings subject to the Labour Code.

Their implementation is now officially validated, both in private EB+ classified premises, and in collective EB+ premises or even EC (excluding areas subject to high pressure cleaning and grease production).

This classification, defined by the CSTB guidelines (document 3567_V2 of November 2021), therefore attests to the capacity of the Knauf HydroProof board.^®to withstand the most intense humidity conditions in the most demanding applications: communal showers and changing rooms, aquatic centers and spas, commercial laundries and launderettes, or swimming pools and premises with direct communication with the pool.

Knauf HydroProof^® : a plasterboard with multiple advantages

Easy to cut and install (10,8 kg/m2 for BA13), the Knauf HydroProof plasterboard^® (3000 or 2600 x 1200 mm) is characterized by its high surface hardness, guaranteeing the mechanical resistance required in the intended premises. Furthermore, its thinned longitudinal edges facilitate finishing work. Holding both "A+" certification for indoor air emissions and "Excell Green Zone" certification for sensitive environments (food industry), it also boasts a fire rating of A2-s1,d0.

Knauf HydroProof^® More than just a plasterboard panel, a complete, justified system allowing for advantageous dimensions

To guarantee the performance and durability of the Knauf HydroProof system^® To ensure the overall integrity of the structure, Knauf complements this certified offering with a complete range of specific "waterproof" accessories. This range of accessories includes numerous references for pivot hangers, adjustable hangers, uprights, rails, furring strips, splices, threaded rods, screws, water-repellent coatings, jointing strips, etc.

Another advantage of the 100% Knauf system, according to Nicolas Mergenthaler, Knauf Interior Design Product Manager: "it also allows for cost-effective sizing of single-layer partition walls made of Knauf HydroProof panels."^® BA13 or BA18. Indeed, the maximum height of a partition wall, for example 98/62, with a single facing and single studs spaced 0,90 m apart, will be 3,50 m with Knauf HydroProof.^® BA 18 and will only be 3,30 m with other plasterboards on the French market.
