This initiative goes beyond the legal obligations defined by the Mobility Orientation Law (LOM) and a voluntary commitment made by the Group to reduce CO2 emissions.
A voluntary acceleration in the pace of renewal of the service fleet
Long committed to the environmental transformation of its business, Kiloutou stands out today by outstripping legal requirements with a fleet renewal rate of 27% in 100% electric vehicles by 2024, compared to 20% required by the LOM law. Replacing the current fleet with very low-emission vehicles also contributes to the group's objective of reducing its direct greenhouse gas emissions by -40% by 2030.
This vehicle renewal concerns Kiloutou's fleet of light, functional, service and operating vehicles, i.e. vehicles used by Kiloutou's teams for deliveries of small equipment or for various technical and commercial interventions with customers. Thus, 760 100% electric vehicles, Volkswagen ID.3 Pro Life Max, Hyundai Kona and Volkswagen ID Buzz Cargo models, are joining the fleet in the renewal of old thermal vehicles.
Support as close as possible to the teams for rapid and responsible implementation
The arrival of these new 100% electric vehicles requires adaptation and familiarization for the team members who will be using them. Aware of these changes in usage, Kiloutou has implemented a series of measures to support them.
A vehicle handling session will be organized for each team member concerned with a Volkswagen sales representative. In addition, each driver will have a digital booklet explaining in detail all the characteristics of the vehicle (the charging system, the autonomy, the use of the charging station locator application, etc.). The challenge is to simplify the handling of the vehicles, and to best support the teams in their daily use. The team members will also be made aware of eco-driving actions in order to maximize the autonomy of the electric vehicle (maintain a moderate speed, use the regenerative brake, anticipate recharging while driving, etc.).
Finally, in parallel with this investment, Kiloutou has reinforced the installation of electric charging stations within its agencies. Thus, around a hundred sites are already operational, for a total of 230 charging points. In addition to these systems, each Kiloutou team member driving an electric vehicle from the service fleet will have a card giving them access to the charging stations.
This measure will ensure greater fluidity in the use of these new vehicles, both by allowing the vehicle to be recharged quickly on its journey, without requiring a return or detour via the agency, and by optimizing the use of terminals installed in agencies which are also used to recharge electric vehicles offered for rental, such as electric dump trucks.
