
George R. Oliver, who led the company’s transformation into a leading provider of building solutions, will remain non-executive Chairman of the Board of Directors through July 31, 2025. He will then be succeeded in this role by Mark P. Vergnano, a Johnson Controls Board member since 2016. George R. Oliver will continue to serve as an advisor to the company through December 31, 2025 to ensure a smooth transition.
Joakim Weidemanis is a seasoned executive with a proven track record of leading global technology businesses and generating growth. During his 13 years at Danaher Corporation, he held a variety of senior leadership positions that gave him deep expertise in developing and structuring global businesses with a focus on innovation, efficiency and customers. Prior to joining Johnson Controls, he was Executive Vice President, Diagnostics and China at Danaher, overseeing the operational leadership of a nearly $15 billion technology group comprised of eight global businesses. Under his leadership, Danaher’s diagnostics business grew significantly through both acquisitions and organic expansion. Previously, he held positions of increasing responsibility at Mettler Toledo and ABB. Throughout his nearly 30-year career, Weidemanis has lived and worked in the United States, Europe and Asia.
