Jean-Christophe Repon, President of CAPEB, elected President of the European Confederation of Manufacturers (EBC)

This appointment is a logical continuation of Jean-Christophe Repon's long-standing commitment to supporting craft construction companies, both nationally and across Europe. It comes at a strategic time for the sector, which is facing numerous challenges shared across the continent: energy transition, attractiveness of professions, access to public procurement, administrative simplification, and social dialogue.

For Jean-Christophe Repon: "It is a great honor to take over the presidency of EBC, an organization that, for 35 years, has been the voice of very small European construction companies in Brussels and Strasbourg, 95% of the sector in Europe. More than ever, small-scale construction companies must be listened to, as they face common challenges throughout Europe: developing their business, meeting the ambition of energy renovation and adapting housing to an aging population, strengthening the attractiveness of their professions, and promoting their specificities in social dialogue. EBC will continue to defend these issues with determination, relying on concrete proposals from the field thanks to the national professional organizations that comprise it, such as CAPEB in France."

Since 1990, the EBC has represented the interests of construction SMEs and building tradespeople before European institutions. It now brings together 21 professional organizations from 16 European countries. Since February 2025, the EBC has been officially recognized by the European Commission as a European social partner.

CAPEB welcomes this election as recognition of the central role played by VSEs in the construction industry in the European economy and of Jean-Christophe Repon's determination to make their voice heard at the highest level.
