Itron integrates NVIDIA artificial intelligence to optimize community energy management

This collaboration, which combines Itron's Grid Edge Intelligence portfolio with NVIDIA's AI-powered solutions, will enable the integration of real-time data to develop solutions that help communities achieve their goals – including grid resilience, disaster management and prevention, operational efficiency, and the secure delivery of affordable energy to consumers.

Collaboration serving communities

With over 13 million smart endpoints shipped worldwide, Itron will work closely with NVIDIA to integrate the NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano and NVIDIA AI Enterprise platforms into its Grid Edge Intelligence portfolio. This will enable enterprises to leverage the power of NVIDIA solutions for AI applications to help optimize their operations. This collaboration will bring greater value to utilities and open new opportunities for grid resilience and decarbonization initiatives, while leveraging the power of data at the edge.

NVIDIA will play a key role in enhancing the wide range of Grid Edge Intelligence solutions—demand response, distributed energy resource management and scheduling, managed services, and more—with AI. Itron will collect data from hundreds of millions of points daily, and NVIDIA's AI platform will help transform this massive data into intelligent insights in real time. This will allow utilities to extract more actionable information to improve their performance.
