Interface partners with Sanofi to promote the reuse of carpet tiles

From the outset of the project, initiated by Sanofi and the international design agency Saguez & Partners, the reuse process was a key consideration to demonstrate how performance, design and sustainability can go hand in hand.

Thanks to meticulous sourcing by ORAK, 1.000 m2 of Interface Composure carpet tiles were recovered from a former site to be sorted, checked, cleaned and reconditioned before being installed in Sanofi's new workspaces.

With their random organic pattern and non-directional installation, Composure slabs were a natural choice for this circular design approach.

The results speak for themselves: a reuse rate of 54,75%, savings of around 35% and a reduction in carbon footprint of up to 80% compared to new slabs, according to the French environmental and health declaration (FDES) of the product.

Designed for durability and reuse, Composure tiles are made from recycled fibers, feature a bio-based underlay as standard, and can be installed without adhesive thanks to TacTiles®. In this project, the combination of new and reused tiles demonstrates the strength of a hybrid approach: economical, practical, and environmentally friendly.
