Housing: Act now, together and sustainably for the recovery

The expected recovery could also be quickly threatened by the economic repercussions of the conflict in the Middle East, leading to new tensions on interest rates, inflation and material costs, and ultimately, on household real estate purchasing power.

The housing recovery must be the subject of rapid, coherent, coordinated and collective action.

Quickly, because the needs of the French are immense and urgent.

Consistent, because housing can no longer be addressed through scattered, segmented, temporary or even antagonistic measures.

Coordinated, because the recovery can only succeed with the joint mobilization of the State, local elected officials and professionals.

Collective because it is together, in the territories as well as at the national level, that the blockages will be lifted and the conditions for a sustainable recovery will be met.

The FFB Housing Division therefore calls for the immediate reinforcement of support measures already undertaken, for strengthening the levers of homeownership and rental investment, particularly for new individual housing which must not remain the blind spot of the recovery policy, and for truly simplifying the act of planning and building across the entire territory.

Reviving housing means protecting the French, but also supporting employment, activity and territorial cohesion.

According to Laurent Beaugiraud, President of the FFB Housing Division: “Housing is a national emergency. We must act quickly, together, comprehensively, and consistently. The State must set a clear and stable course, the new local authorities must stimulate, encourage, and support projects, and professionals must be recognized as partners in finding solutions. More than ever, reviving the housing sector requires collective mobilization.”
