Hellio Academy receives ministerial accreditation to train local elected officials on the challenges of the energy transition

In the aftermath of the municipal elections, local authorities are facing a situation combining a sustained rise in energy costs, increased budgetary constraints and strengthened regulatory requirements, making energy control of territories a major strategic issue for the next term.

While 80% of French people want their mayor to have more power to act on the environment according to a Hellio study carried out in partnership with Ifop and the magazine L'Inspiration politique, this issue is all the more crucial for municipalities with fewer than 30.000 inhabitants, often faced with a lack of technical and financial resources to act effectively.

To support these new expectations and help elected officials move from goodwill to action, Hellio Academy, a Qualiopi-certified training organization within the Hellio Group, recently received accreditation from the Ministry of Territorial Development and Decentralization. This accreditation allows it to offer training programs specifically designed for local elected officials and their staff, guiding them in implementing concrete energy transition strategies at the local level.

Training tailored to the needs of elected officials across the territory

To meet the needs of local authorities, Hellio Academy is launching a progressive training course, designed to provide elected officials and municipal services with the keys to understanding, analysis and decision-making necessary for the implementation of a local energy strategy.

Three main areas of training:

Design and manage the energy renovation strategy for local authority buildings
Mobilizing existing funding to reduce the remaining costs of energy renovation projects
Understanding the main levers for action to reduce the energy bills of municipalities

These training courses, offered in person or online, are led by expert trainers. They are designed for both local elected officials and staff involved in planning and energy renovation projects, offering practical exercises tailored to the specific needs of each region. Eligible for the Individual Training Entitlement for Local Elected Officials (DIFE), these courses can be funded by the CHENE fund of the ACTEE program, as well as by local or European funding.

Module 1 - “Energy renovation within your local authority: understanding,
decide, steer”

Hellio Academy: a training organization dedicated to all stakeholders in the energy transition

A subsidiary of the Hellio group, the Hellio Academy training organization was founded in 2020 to equip companies, building experts, real estate professionals, architects, design offices and actors in the tertiary sector with the skills necessary to scale up energy management operations across the entire national territory.

Initially designed for building and real estate professionals, this program is now naturally open to local elected officials and their technical departments. With a presence across the country through nearly 15 branches, the group already supports more than 3.000 local authorities in their energy renovation projects.
