GreenMode: a groundbreaking technology unique in the world!

Using data from the electricity grid and weather forecasts for more environmentally friendly operation and greater savings is the promise of GreenMode, a patented ÖkoFEN innovation. By analyzing weather forecasts, the carbon footprint of the electricity mix, and the spot price of electricity, the GreenFOX heat pump allows users to prioritize the use of the greenest or most economical electricity, or to prioritize the use of self-generated photovoltaic electricity.

GreenMode in detail

GreenMode is integrated as standard in every GreenFOX heat pump. Its principle is based on the daily analysis of data relating to CO2 emissions and the price per kWh of electricity, in conjunction with weather forecasts. This analysis allows for the creation of a 24-hour operating scenario. Based on this scenario, the control system can shift heating periods to times when electricity is more environmentally friendly, more economical, or generated by solar power.

Example 1: The user has set their heating hours to be between 6:00 and 8:00 AM. The day before, the heat pump receives data relating to the CO2 mix of electricity. If this data shows that certain hours of the day will benefit from greener electricity, the heat pump will program a start-up during those hours, according to the user's choice (a maximum offset of 1, 2, or 3 hours from the initially programmed heating hours).

Example 2: The user has set their heating hours to be between 6:00 and 8:00 AM. They have photovoltaic panels on their roof. The heat pump receives the weather forecast for the following day, which predicts sunshine from 9:00 AM. The heat pump will delay its start-up by 1, 2, or 3 hours (as chosen by the user) to utilize the electricity produced by the solar panels.

• Heating in winter with an output temperature of up to 65°C, compatible with all types of emitters (radiators or underfloor heating)
• Domestic hot water production.
