Getlink powered by trains and electricity, starting in early 2026

This revenue increased by 15% in the first quarter, to 371 million euros.

"In a context of high and volatile energy prices, the diversification of the group's range of activities remains an essential strength," commented Getlink CEO Yann Leriche in a statement.

Eurotunnel, the passenger and freight transport branch, saw its turnover increase by 4% to 258 million euros.

During this quarter, the number of passengers on high-speed trains (between England on one side and France or Belgium on the other), which generates the most traffic, was up 5% to nearly 2,6 million passengers.

Traffic from other users decreased: in order of importance, passenger vehicles (coaches and cars, -1%), heavy goods vehicles (-2%) and freight trains (-21%).

Getlink said it controlled 62% of road traffic between Calais and Dover in the first quarter, compared with 62,1% a year earlier.

The fastest-growing activity within the group is Eleclink, with its gigawatt of electrical capacity for the interconnection of the French and British networks.

This subsidiary has seen its turnover more than double, to 70 million euros.

Getlink pointed out that it has been 29,4% owned by a subsidiary of Eiffage since the end of March.

The Italian group Mundys, the second largest shareholder, also increased its stake to 19% during the quarter (24,8% of voting rights), with the option to acquire an additional 6% stake, which would then increase its stake to 25% (29,9% of voting rights).
