The Apogee ULTRA sets new benchmarks for power, adaptability and workplace safety, meeting the demands of intensive tasks, improving both productivity and user comfort. It helps create a safer and more inclusive work environment, while addressing critical social and demographic challenges, such as labor shortages and an aging workforce.
Combining power and intelligence
Human-centric, Apogee ULTRA adjusts to the different needs of operators thanks to an adaptable support system and advanced learning capabilities. This robotic exoskeleton can compensate up to 36 kg per lifting movement and optimizes walking assistance to make movement smoother. Its software updates are carried out in OTA (Over The Air) mode. In addition, the Apogee ULTRA exoskeleton automatically adapts to the person wearing it, thanks to an anonymous PIN code that “recognizes” the user: teammates can therefore share the same exoskeleton according to the task schedule.
Apogee ULTRA collects anonymized data in real time during operation, which is constantly enriched by an AI developed in-house by German Bionic for exoskeletons, thus allowing the equipment to be personalized according to its user and the specific tasks that this person will perform. This data constitutes the basis for the continuous evolution of the device, thus protecting the investments of companies in this field, while relieving the operators in their daily lives.
For Norma Steller, Head of Development at German Bionic: “We have deepened our expertise in the industrial and healthcare sectors through user feedback, and we know that throughout the day, operators perform tasks that require an additional level of strength, whether it’s lifting a package or helping an incapacitated patient. That’s why we developed this exoskeleton with an ULTRA mode, which gives users a powerful boost to accomplish these difficult tasks safely and more easily.”
Multiple benefits for demanding sectors
In industries such as logistics and material handling, where physical demands and staff shortages are common, Apogee ULTRA offers many advantages:
- Reduce fatigue and injury by relieving pressure on the lower back.
- Reduction in the number of sick leaves in companies (31% reduction in sick leaves).
- Improved handling and mobility with improved lifting and movement capabilities making it easier to handle heavy and bulky objects.
- Career longevity by supporting the musculoskeletal health of operators.
- Attractiveness of positions by offering better working conditions.
A 360° tool that adapts to the user's choices
The German Bionic Connect app enriches the user experience by collecting data such as steps taken, weight lifted and usage time. Accessible by operators, they can control and personalize their interactions. By further integrating them into the technology they use, the app encourages exploration and human-machine interaction, setting a new standard in the field of exoskeletons.
The German Bionic IO data platform, which centralizes the data collected in an anonymized manner by the exoskeletons in operation, allows an easy and complete integration of this data into the ecosystems related to the "augmented human". The evaluation of the level of security of the user teams, the recommendations on the ergonomics of the workstations thanks to AI jointly contribute to improving the security and the overall efficiency of exoskeletons and smart wearable equipment in companies.
For Armin G. Schmidt, CEO of German Bionic: “This achievement is the culmination of years of innovation. Apogee ULTRA is more than just one of the most powerful exoskeletons on the market: it is an innovative solution designed to meet the real-world challenges of the professional world. By redefining the standards of operator support, we are proud to continue to push the boundaries of human potential augmentation, enabling professionals to accomplish more safely, efficiently and sustainably.”
