KE France is stepping up the recycling of its fabrics and bringing the industry along with it.

Ten tons of recycled offcuts and a new collection in sight

The year 2025 marks an important milestone: 10 tonnes of fabric scraps were recycled, compared to 7 tonnes in 2024. A significant increase, the result of in-depth work carried out jointly with Dickson Constant.

This long-term collaboration, supported in particular by the program Recycle My DicksonThis initiative is part of a comprehensive approach to textile circularity. It has enabled the development of a new collection of awning fabrics, featuring eight colors with organic and contemporary tones. KE France will have early access to these fabrics upon their planned launch in 2026.

This development concretely demonstrates the relevance of a short supply chain between supplier and manufacturer.

Recycling used canvases: a collective challenge

Another key project launched in 2025 is the collection of end-of-life awning fabrics directly from customers. Fifteen Big Bags—themselves made from fabric scraps—have been provided free of charge to partner awning companies. To date, four have already been filled and collected.

However, the operational phase highlights the complexity of this new stage in textile recycling, with several challenges identified:

• the need to raise customer awareness of the prior removal of all accessories and components
• the constraints associated with prolonged storage in workshops,
• an industrial recycling process still being validated with a specialist partner.

Reuse, a space for team expression

Alongside recycling, KE France is actively exploring reuse. The teams have designed a simple and practical offering: a collection of deck chairs made during the off-season from production offcuts. Around a hundred of these chairs were sold last winter.

This initiative is now evolving with the introduction of a matching cushion, made from leftover fabric scraps and filled with recycled shredded material. This is a tangible demonstration of the creative and operational potential of the teams when they are directly involved in the valorization of materials.

2026: Reducing emissions at the source is the stated priority.

For Caroline Le Goffic: “The results achieved in recycling are a real source of pride. The next step is to take even more action upstream. From 2026, we will refine our canvas purchases, favouring rolls for the most requested items and using coupons for more specific designs.”

This direction is in line with the actions undertaken since 2024: reduction of ordinary industrial waste, increasing integration of recycled materials, development of internal and external short supply chains, reuse of supplier packaging, and mobilization of the 70 employees around climate issues, in particular through the Climate Fresk.

Through this progressive and structured approach, KE France affirms its commitment to sustainably integrating the solar protection sector into a logic of shared environmental responsibility.
