France Fermetures invests more than €800.000 in its metal shutter production unit

The market for metal shutters has faced numerous challenges in recent years, notably the rise of new solutions and materials which have come to compete with this historic product of French architectural heritage.

For more than a century, France Fermetures has built a reputation for excellence in the manufacturing of custom-made metal shutters, the brand's emblematic product. To perfect its know-how, the company has just installed, on its Saint-Hilaire-de-Court site (18), a new assembly line including a latest generation welding center and an exoskeleton system. .

Representing an investment of more than €800.000, this new equipment constitutes a considerable advance in the manufacturing of shutters thanks to increased assembly quality and improved working conditions for employees. It also contributes to the reduction of energy consumption.

A latest generation welding center serving quality

Custom-designed for France Fermetures, this new welder is among the largest in the world and can produce very large shutters (up to 3 m high). It benefits from numerous technological developments including digital displacement spot welding which modernizes and simplifies the manufacturing process via a fully digital and intuitive configuration interface intended for operators.

Equipped with a clamp welding system and self-sharpening electrodes, this new installation allows for finer and more resistant welding points, thus improving the durability and aesthetics of the shutters.

In addition, this cutting-edge technology considerably reduces the environmental impact of manufacturing by reducing energy consumption linked to welding by almost 40%.

Beyond its technical efficiency, this new acquisition also aims to improve the working conditions of operators. With features such as automatic louver unloading and positioning assistance for different louver types, it creates a safer and more comfortable working environment. Placing the health of its employees at the heart of its approach, France Fermetures has also implemented an exoskeleton which offers ergonomic support for carrying shutters that are sometimes heavy and require numerous manipulations.
