Made from 100% renewable energy, the Tessera evolve+ collections incorporate more than 75% recycled content (compared to 60% for standard ranges) and have a carbon footprint of less than 2 kg of CO₂/m² (A1-A3), all certified without carbon offsetting thanks to transparent Environmental Product Declarations (EPD)[1].
Reinventing professional carpeting: when design and durability become one
Tessera evolve+ illustrates Forbo Flooring's commitment to its eco-responsible and innovative approach. Designed to meet the requirements of a wide range of professional sectors – offices, educational institutions, public spaces – these textile tiles contribute to significantly reducing the carbon footprint of projects, while offering an aesthetically pleasing, high-performance floor covering that complies with international standards such as LEED.®BREEAM® and HQE®.
This concept was born from a clear desire: to develop already high-performance products towards an improved environmental footprint. It is based on three major principles: reducing the carbon impact to less than 2 kg of CO₂ per m² during the manufacturing phase, integrating more than 75% recycled content (thanks in particular to the use of nylon 6 fibers comprising 90% recycled material) and using exclusively renewable energy for production.
According to Cécilia Louis, Director of Strategy & Marketing for France and Southern Countries: « With Tessera evolve+, we demonstrate that it is possible to combine technical excellence, aesthetics, and environmental responsibility without compromise. This range embodies our vision: to create solutions that actively contribute to the ecological transition of the building sector. »
Tessera evolve+: 5 collections to meet the challenges of tertiary spaces
The first collections to embody this approach were Tessera Topology, which combines geometric lines and soft textures, and Tessera Create Space 1, characterized by its 18 organic shades and flexible installation options. Tessera Topology is available in 13 colors, can be installed monolithically, offers excellent acoustic performance at 27 dB, and guarantees a carbon footprint of 1,4 kg CO₂/m². Tessera Create Space 1, on the other hand, comes in 18 colors, allows for several installation methods—monolithic, staggered at 90°, or quarter-turn—offers acoustic performance of 25 dB, and achieves only 0,84 kg CO₂/m² (A1-A3, according to EPD).
In 2025, the Tessera evolve+ series was enriched with three new ranges, all compliant with the threshold of less than 2 kg of CO₂/m².
Tessera twine, launched in February, features a subtly striated loop and draws inspiration from plant textures such as bark and leaves. Offered in 12 natural tones, this collection has a monolithic look and provides 27 dB of acoustic performance.
Tessera chroma, renewed in April, impresses with its 24 new contemporary colors and its multiple installation options, from monolithic to quarter-turn to 90° reverse. It thus combines creativity and technicality, allowing the creation of dynamic and personalized spaces, coupled with 26 dB acoustics.
Finally, Tessera Tranquility, launched in September, evokes the soothing movement of water and natural rock formations through 12 subtle colors. It is made from 100% Econylar fibers.®It presents itself as monolithic and claims an acoustic performance of 24 dB
It should be noted that all Tessera evolve+ collections can be used individually or combined with each other, as well as with other Forbo Flooring ranges, to create bespoke environments. This modularity, combined with complete environmental transparency, makes this range an ideal tool for interior architects, designers, and planners who are committed to combining design and sustainability in their projects.
With Tessera evolve+, Forbo Flooring confirms its role as an active participant in the ecological transition and demonstrates that it is possible to design professional floor coverings without compromising between innovation, design and sustainability.
