A symbolic first stone
On Friday, June 21, the teams of FAUBOURG PROMOTION, a developer of commercial real estate, and IDEC, a turnkey designer and builder of logistics, industrial and tertiary real estate, organized the laying of the first stone of a 1 m25 distribution center in Mignières. The teams of the two subsidiaries of the IDEC GROUP, the future user, PLG, a multi-specialist distributor of professional hygiene solutions and a key player on the French market, and local elected officials shared this symbolic and friendly moment.
For Mr Didier Garnier – Mayor of Mignières and Vice-President of Chartres Métropole in charge of development and economic development: "As Mayor of Mignières, and Vice-President for Development and Economic Development of Chartres Métropole, it is with great pride that we come together today to celebrate an important moment in the development of the Mignières business park. The laying of the first stone of the IDEC Group project highlights the development potential of this area. With more than 25.000 m2 of buildings on ten hectares, this platform promises to be a real driver of growth and innovation. The IDEC GROUP, together with FAUBOURG PROMOTION, both recognized for their expertise in construction, have once again demonstrated their commitment to the economic development of our region, with this virtuous and environmentally friendly project. I would like to warmly congratulate them for their forward-looking work and strategic vision. In January 2025, this platform will welcome the PLG Group, a key player in the French market, specializing in professional hygiene products and equipment. I can only be delighted with this major establishment. The Mignières distribution platform will be the national platform of the PLG Group, a central position at the crossroads of major roads. The PLG Group aims to increase its recruitment, the company is recruiting for the start of the activity, around fifteen employees and plans to increase recruitment to eventually reach nearly 110 employees on site. This establishment has a real positive impact on employment and the local economy. It is always a great source of pride to support structuring economic projects and programs with strong impacts on the territory. I would like to emphasize the importance of the collaborations that have been implemented to build this great project.
Construction started
This distribution center was developed with the support of Christophe GROS, from Entrepôt XXL France, in his role as Partner Advisor of FAUBOURG PROMOTION and PLG. Its construction began in March and will extend upon delivery to a surface area of 25.000 m2 with a possible extension to 36.000 m2 depending on PLG's needs. In detail, this project will be organized around a storage space of nearly 24.000 m2. It will be completed by an office block, a charging room and technical rooms.
For Paul-Alban Riché - General Manager Bunzl France: “The laying of the first stone of our new logistics platform in Mignières marks a key milestone in the history of PLG. This project represents much more than a significant investment for our Group: it is a real step forward towards more sustainable and innovative logistics. This modern platform will be a major asset to strengthen our regional network and better meet the professional hygiene needs of our customers throughout France. The support and shared vision of our partners, as well as Mr Didier Garnier, Mayor of Mignières and Vice-President of Chartres Métropole responsible for development and economic promotion, and his teams, were essential to bring this ambitious project to fruition. In line with our CSR approach, we are committed to creating a place where innovation, sustainability and the well-being of our employees are at the heart of our priorities. During the construction phase, we will use this period to recruit our future talents, with an emphasis on equal opportunities and the promotion of diversity. We would like to warmly thank France Travail and all of its teams for their support in this crucial recruitment phase. Join us in this exciting adventure and see you in early 2025 for the inauguration!
Exemplary environmental integration
Conceived from its inception in a responsible development logic, this logistics operation has benefited from the expertise of the IDEC GROUP and its subsidiaries in the design and implementation of sustainable projects. Through several measures to limit the environmental footprint of this platform, a Biodivercity label and a BREEAM Very Good certification are targeted. In conjunction with IDEC ENERGY, designer, installer, operator and supplier of low-carbon energy services, this project will enable the production of 3,8 MWh per year, a level higher than the energy consumption of the city of Mignières and the equivalent of 1.875 inhabitants. In use, this will save the release of 61 tonnes of CO2, the equivalent of the emissions of 7 heavy goods vehicles per year.
A new association FAUBOURG PROMOTION and IDEC
The realization of this building is the result of a new collaboration between the subsidiaries of the IDEC GROUP. A major player in real estate operating across the entire real estate value chain in France and internationally, the group is once again demonstrating its ability to develop projects from A to Z by integrating the energy and environmental dimension. This is the case on this project with the integration of a photovoltaic power plant and solutions for decarbonized mobility.
For Christophe SIMONNET, General Manager of FAUBOURG AMENAGEMENT and FAUBOURG PROMOTION: "We are proud to lay the first stone of this logistics project, here in Mignières at the crossroads of three key regions, Île de France, Centre Val de Loire and Normandy. Through this program, we are once again illustrating our ability to support our customers from the genesis of their project to the commissioning of their new logistics or industrial tool."
