FNTP denounces a draft budget that will worsen ecological debt and territorial divisions

The Government is prioritizing tax increases, while France is already at a record level compared to OECD countries, and drastic cuts in local investment, which represents more than 70% of civil public investment. These choices would seriously harm growth, contribute to increasing territorial imbalances and sacrifice the ecological transition.

Collapse of the green fund, two-point drop in the VAT compensation fund rate, cut in the budget of the Transport Infrastructure Financing Agency, creation of an imposed savings fund, this "stop and go" policy would be in total contradiction with the categorical imperatives of the ecological transition and support for our territories.

The FNTP regrets these budgetary adjustment options by "cuts", instead of tackling the reduction of public deficits by structural reforms concerning social expenditure - representing more than half of public expenditure - and current state expenditure. The countries which have succeeded in reducing their public deficits, without harming growth, have preserved their investment.

Faced with the "wall of investments" of the ecological transition and the vital needs of our territories, the FNTP calls on the responsibility of Parliament to make budgetary decisions in line with the concern for preparing for the future and national recovery.
