Evolution of the market for individual photovoltaic solar installations

This figure corresponds to an increase of 13,5% compared to 2020. An honorable momentum but significantly lower than that recorded in the 3 to 9 kW segment, which doubles its volumes (120.680 kW, + 100,8% compared to 2020 ).

Self-consumption is still as popular with 90% of operations in the segment of 3 kW or less. Over the last 8 years, the total volume of installations of less than 200 kW having been installed for self-consumption in France is thus estimated at more than 3 MW.

Geographically, the market remains mainly located in the south of France with New Aquitaine and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes as spearheads (40% of installed power in the segment under 3 kW).

As for the sale price of equipment, the upward trend observed for other renewable technologies intended for individuals (thermal solar, heat pumps or wood-burning appliances) also applies here since, on average, an installation sold 6 to 7% more expensive in 2021. However, the start of 2022, marked by China's zero COVID policy and the war in Ukraine, suggests an increase in supply problems and rising prices in France and more widely in Europe.
