Eiffage wins the design-build contract for the Institute of Biology and Pathology at Bordeaux University Hospital as part of a consortium

The group is made up of the architectural firms Celnikier & Grabli Architectes and TLR Architecture, MC Paysages, the design office specializing in laboratory design 2B Concept Consulting, the technical design offices Ingerop, SICC and AVLS as well as the companies Cenergia for the electricity part and Hervé Thermique for the HVAC, plumbing and special fluids part.

With a floor area of ​​16.460 m2, the 5-level project will be located at the heart of the Haut-Lévêque site, providing a link between the logistics hub to the north and the cardiology building and care buildings to the south. The new institute will bring together CHU laboratories, offices and storage areas located around a central patio.

The project was designed using a BIM process with an approach of energy and environmental sobriety. Connected to the CHU's cooling and heating networks, the building will benefit from an intelligent consumption management system. To limit the carbon weight of the construction elements, low-carbon concrete will be used for the slabs and intermediate floors. The use of bio-sourced or reused materials is also planned. In addition, green spaces will reduce the ecological impact of the project and will limit heat islands while improving the living environment.

The design phase has just begun and work on the occupied site will begin in September 2025. It will last 29 months with a view to delivery of the new institute in 2028.
