Eiffage, through its subsidiary Eiffage Génie Civil Marine, in a joint venture with the Belgian company Jan de Nul, has won the design-build contract for the expansion of the container terminal at the port of Callao Muelle Norte in Peru. The total value of the contract is over €100 million.
The contract, awarded by APM Terminals Callao (jointly owned by APM Terminals of the AP Møller-Maersk Group and Terminal Investment Limited of the MSC Group, two of the world's leading logistics companies), covers the demolition of berths 4 and 5C and the subsequent construction of a new berth 5C on piles. The new berth, almost twice the size, will measure 441 meters long and 44 meters wide.
The total duration of the contract is 21 months, including five months of studies. The construction will be carried out while maintaining terminal operations throughout the various phases of the work.
This new contract strengthens the Group's position on major, complex port projects, leveraging our comprehensive in-house engineering and methodological expertise, as well as our advanced skills in maritime civil engineering. Several projects are currently underway in Africa, notably in Benin, the Republic of Congo, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
