Edilteco® reinvents lightweight screed with La Chape XXs® Dual Tech

Available from early May in trade networks, this new formulation replaces the historic LA CHAPE XXs®, bringing a major evolution: a single solution for two application methods, traditional or fluid.

Designed to meet the demands of the field, LA CHAPE XXs® DUAL TECH allows craftsmen and screeders to no longer have to choose between speed of execution and precision of implementation.

Depending on the chosen dosage, the product can be used in its traditional form, for application with a screed, or in a fluid form, with a self-leveling formulation, ideal for easy application and achieving a smooth surface with excellent ease of handling. This versatility allows for precise control of the consistency to meet the specific needs of the project, while guaranteeing optimal results on every square meter.

Formulated for high performance and versatility

LA CHAPE XXs® DUAL TECH stands out with a specific formulation combining lightness, resistance and ease of implementation.

Ready to use in 23-liter bags, this fiber-reinforced screed incorporates virgin expanded polystyrene beads with controlled particle size, coated with a specific EIA additive, guaranteeing high mechanical performance while maintaining a particularly low weight. Manufactured in France at the Sèvremoine site (49), it benefits from proven industrial expertise and local production.

This allows for a weight saving of nearly 50% compared to traditional concrete, a major advantage in renovation, particularly on wooden floors or old structures, where load control is an essential issue for structural safety.

With a possible application thickness of just 1 cm, it offers a perfectly suited solution for both renovation and new construction. Designed for on-site use, LA CHAPE XXs® DUAL TECH provides exceptional ease of application and optimal finish quality. Its smooth, malleable texture simplifies the applicator's work, reduces the physical strain of application, and allows for smoother progress on the construction site.

Its fiber-reinforced formulation eliminates the need for anti-cracking mesh, while its smooth texture ensures a closed, smooth surface ready to receive a floor covering directly. Tiles can therefore be bonded after just 24 hours, without leveling compound, resulting in significant time savings on site. Compliant with standard NF EN 13813, LA CHAPE XXs® DUAL TECH also boasts an A2fl-s1 fire rating, attesting to its excellent fire resistance. Compatible with all types of floor coverings, it stands out as a reliable, high-performance, and safe solution.

Thanks to its "Dual Tech" technology, this screed adapts to all site configurations. Usable in traditional or fluid versions, it meets the requirements of renovating sensitive substrates (wooden floors, old structures) as well as the needs for leveling, creating slopes, or producing self-leveling, thermally insulating screeds. Versatile, it also allows for the creation of bonded or unbonded screeds, in both single-family and multi-family dwellings.

An implementation that can be adjusted according to the needs of the construction site

With LA CHAPE XXs® DUAL TECH, consistency control is based on a simple principle: the choice between a traditional or fluid application is made by adjusting the volume of water at the time of mixing.

In all cases, strict adherence to the dosages determines the mechanical performance of the product: the mixture remains usable for 30 minutes and must never be re-wetted after mixing.

The quality of the result also depends on careful preparation of the surface.

LA CHAPE XXs® DUAL TECH is compatible with all types of floors or supports, provided that they are able to bear the load and comply with NF DTU 26.2. It can be applied from 1 cm in bonded installation on concrete support and from 2 cm in unbonded installation on wood support.

On the application side, the technique varies according to the chosen consistency; in both cases, the smooth and malleable formula ensures comfortable application, more flexible for the applicator and easier to control on site: in the traditional version, the mixture is spread with the usual tools and then leveled with a ruler, before a direct finish with a trowel; in the fluid version, after adjusting the level, the passage of a debubbling roller or a debubbling bar allows the surface to be homogenized and the flatness to be optimized.

Finally, LA CHAPE XXs® DUAL TECH is compatible with all types of floor coverings, provided that the rules of the art and associated technical recommendations are respected.
