Eco-design at the heart of innovation at Sebico: products designed to last and preserve

For nearly 100 years, Sebico has been designing and manufacturing water management solutions. Today, faced with the environmental emergency, the company is strengthening its commitment to eco-design. By integrating environmental criteria from the initial design phase of its products, Sebico is taking concrete action to reduce the impact of its solutions on resources, local communities, and the climate.

According to Pierre-Colin GERVAIS, Director of Research and Development – Sustainable Innovation at Sebico: “Designing a product means anticipating its impact from start to finish: its manufacturing, its use, its end of life. Eco-design forces us to do more with less, and to think systemically. It is a requirement that we have transformed into a driver of sustainable innovation.”

Eco-design: a sustainable industrial strategy

At Sebico, eco-design is not limited to a technical criterion: it is a structuring approach, integrated into all links of the value chain.

Raw materials selected for their reduced environmental impact (recycled and recyclable polyethylene, recyclable concrete);
Durability and repairability of products, to extend their life cycle;
Optimizing packaging and reducing logistics to limit transport-related emissions;
Recyclability of end-of-life components.

Eco-designed products, built to last

Among the flagship products of this approach, Sebico highlights its Pack'Eau range (rainwater recovery tanks) and its non-collective sanitation solutions, designed with a dual requirement: environmental performance, durability and robustness over time.

Polyethylene tanks now incorporate an increasing percentage of recycled and recyclable material, while still guaranteeing high mechanical resistance. Concrete components are manufactured to minimize CO2 emissions, particularly by prioritizing short supply chains.

The products are designed to be disassembled, repaired or recycled, in line with a circular economy approach.

Eco-design in the service of sustainable utility

This approach is part of a broader vision: that of sustainable innovation, which guides Sebico's CSR strategy. Producing in France, with responsible materials, for sustainable uses: this is Sebico's response to climate challenges, the expectations of local authorities, and the requirements of building professionals.

Eco-manufacturing supported by a French industrial tool
