Dunkirk hosts the first Enedis low-carbon construction site in Hauts-de-France

On the program: low-emission machines such as electric machines or using fuels of renewable origin and reuse of land that will allow a 41% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to a "classic" site.

Since June 26, Enedis and its partner Dubrulle have been connecting a new building to the electricity network in Dunkirk. A construction site with low greenhouse gas emissions, which applies the principles of the circular economy, to meet several objectives: improve the environmental impact of construction sites, better measure it and thus participate in the climate effort and the improving the quality of life of residents.

On this site, electrical equipment or equipment using fuels of renewable origin, supplied by the Kiloutou group, reflects a common desire to decarbonise activities and uses. We thus find:

• Electric earthmoving equipment: 2,5 T shovel, 800 L loader
• Thermal equipment using biofuel (HVO of renewable origin)
• Power tools: battery-powered rammer and chainsaw
• A charging system for electrical equipment: 45 KVA powerbank

These materials reduce CO90 emissions by 2% compared to their thermal equivalent, their use saves 3 tonnes of CO2 equivalent, or almost 15.000 km by car.

Another specificity of this project: the reuse of land, recovered and recycled by the Dubrulle company, which allows a 22% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.

An important project for Enedis, a major player in the ecological transition, which will make it possible to draw up initial feedback with a view to improving site practices in the years to come. A detailed analysis will then be shared with the actors of the project and in particular with the urban community of Dunkirk to enable them to optimize their own sites.
