Comenza Naraya project: Glassfit 1401, a completely transparent balcony railing to admire the Seine

The balconies, which undulate seamlessly around the building, are fitted with Glassfit 1401 railings from Spanish manufacturer Comenza, a railing and handrail systems company. The glass is fitted with straight and curved glass, manufactured and supplied by Glass Partners Solutions, and the metalwork and fittings work was handled by its client, the installer TSO Reali.

Thanks to their design, Glassfit 1401 railings make installation simpler and faster, while being highly customizable with 7 handrail options in 15 RAL colors.

Combining safety and aesthetics, the result is a harmonious blend of modern design and functionality, offering residents and visitors a splendid panoramic view of the Bois de Boulogne, Paris and its iconic monuments.

The contemporary design of curved railings and curved glazing

Over 500 linear meters of 10.10.4 tempered laminated glass railings were installed on the residence's balconies. Here, railings are not just safety features. At the heart of the project, the de Comenza teams pushed the boundaries of design by creating elegant curved 1401 profiles. They are complemented by Evasafe 10.10.4 tempered laminated 1.52 curved glazing, giving this beautiful project a distinctive aesthetic.

Glassfit 1401 terrace railings: ultra-simplified, faster and safer installation

Made to measure and intended for professional use (ERP), this terrace railing is CSTB certified and complies with standards NF P01 012 and NF P01 013. This compliance with standards is made possible thanks to the strength of the glass (1010/4 - thickness 21,52 mm - 102 kg/m2).

The SV-1401 system incorporates the Level-In leveling device designed to simplify the installation of glass railings. This device overcomes the limitations of traditional fixed shims, allowing for fast, easy, economical, and secure leveling.

With a leveling accuracy of ±1o and ultra-simple glass fixing using pressure wedges, the SV-1401 system reduces the estimated installation time by 25%. With a French-style installation, which consists of fixing the railing posts flat on the ground, directly on top of the slab using robust floor plates, installation is greatly facilitated. This installation is simple since it allows the terrace railing glass to be installed directly from the inside. It is also safer and faster because it avoids the use of external scaffolding. In addition, since it does not require any special tools or equipment, the SV-1401 contributes to the ease of installation of the body grade. Finally, there is no residual deflection. This process is generally recommended for large areas.

Glassfit 1401 terrace railings: hyper-personalization of architectural projects

A configuration tool, available on the Comenza website, allows you to customize almost the entire GLASSFIT 1401 terrace railing. In addition, the manufacturer offers no fewer than 7 handrail options: round, square, and even wooden.

Finally, Comenza systems also offer the possibility of customizing the color of the railing thanks to a range of 15 RAL, bringing a unique touch to the project.

A tested and certified rail

The GLASSFIT 1401 terrace railing features a high-quality, one-piece aluminum profile. In addition, its anodized aluminum composition (multiple layers of aluminum have been added to the profile) makes it stronger, more aesthetically pleasing, and completely rustproof, unlike conventional aluminum.

A glass that withstands all tests

Terrace railings are 6 to 8 times stronger than conventional glass thanks to their laminated and tempered glass composition. This means that the glass has undergone several processes, making it more resistant. Furthermore, if the glass were to break, the PVB layers on the glass would hold it in place, preventing it from shattering into a thousand pieces.
