Colas wins the contract to rehabilitate runway 4 at Paris-Orly airport

More than 350 employees will be mobilized to rehabilitate the 3.350 meters of runway 4 and its access roads.

This large-scale project also includes the renovation of seven aircraft taxiways and the reconfiguration of a strategic intersection in order to improve the flow and safety of travel.

The operation also includes the modernization of other aeronautical infrastructure such as the installation of more than 40 kilometers of lighting and sanitation networks.

In line with its environmental commitments and the client's expectations, Colas will deploy several innovative solutions to rehabilitate one of the two main runways at Paris-Orly Airport. The use of alternative fuels, low-carbon cement, the integration of recycled materials into the asphalt mix, and optimized structures to limit the use of hydraulic binders will reduce carbon emissions by 48% compared to the initial specifications.

Furthermore, nearly 90% of the materials from the demolition will be recycled, either directly on site or via Tersen's recovery and recycling platforms.

This new contract confirms Colas' expertise in the construction and modernization of airport infrastructure. In recent years, the Group has renovated runway 3 at Paris-Orly, runways 1 and 3 at Paris-Charles de Gaulle, as well as the runways at Nice Côte d'Azur and Luxembourg airports. Internationally, Colas recently completed the third runway at Bangkok and is currently building a taxiway in Los Angeles.
