Colas wins the contract to build the western section of the Bradford bypass in Ontario, Canada

Work is expected to begin in the coming weeks, with a planned completion date of 2030.

The Bradford bypass is a 16,3 km controlled access motorway linking the A400 (Simcoe County) to the A404 (York area), included in the CMGC (Construction Manager / General Contractor) model, a method of delivering infrastructure projects where the construction company intervenes from the earliest design phases to contribute to the technical and operational optimization of the project.

The contract covers a 6,5 km section between Highway 400 and Yonge Street, a key component of a major investment in Ontario's road infrastructure. The work includes the construction of new interchanges, the replacement of a bridge, and the creation of a direct connection to Highway 400.

This project aims to significantly reduce traffic congestion in the York Region and Simcoe County, with estimated travel time savings of up to 35 minutes on some journeys. It is also expected to support approximately 2.200 jobs annually and generate up to $286 million for the Ontario economy.
