COP30: Hellio calls for a sovereign and equitable energy transition

In a context of economic and geopolitical tensions, the need for a sustainable, fair and sovereign energy transition is more urgent than ever.

Hellio, a major player in energy management and energy efficiency in France, formulates its recommendations to accelerate climate action while strengthening national industrial competitiveness.

Hellio's 6 priority levers:

• 1. Focus on innovation for genuine energy sovereignty

Reindustrialize around green technologies and national expertise. Innovation must serve a knowledge-based industry and not be dependent on imported solutions.

• 2. Do not sell off our industry to the benefit of external dependence

The energy transition cannot be achieved at the expense of our productive capacities: industrial independence is a pillar of the transition.

• 3. Empower businesses to grow sustainably

Adapt the rules and financing mechanisms in order to create leverage for companies committed to decarbonization and energy efficiency.

• 4. Accelerate the electrification of uses

Electrification of transport, heating and industrial processes is a key driver of emissions reduction provided that it is based on decarbonized and local electricity production.

• 5. Preserve territorial specificities

The standardization of climate policies must avoid erasing local strengths and constraints: territories must remain at the heart of ecological planning.

• 6. Training and educating about sobriety

Changing behaviors through training, education and raising awareness of energy sobriety, starting in schools and in businesses.
