A pilot session was thus organized at the end of May, in Dijon. Three days of immersion for a dozen CFA teachers and trainers, confirming the adequacy of resources with their needs, expectations and constraints, in the interest of their pupils, apprentices and students.
In order for energy renovation, which is fundamental in the dynamics of ecological transition, to be better and more effectively dealt with in the lessons delivered to future professionals, initial training has been a key component of FEEBAT, the national* program for Energy Savings Training since 2018. in the building.
In conjunction with the Ministry of National Education and the CCCA-BTP, FEEBAT has thus developed educational resources specifically dedicated to this subject, intended for high school teachers and OFA** trainers, so that they in turn train , future building professionals.
At the end of May, a dozen teachers and trainers from 4 *** establishments in Dijon, working in several professional sectors, from CAP to BTS, were able to discover the training environment and test these innovative educational resources. To do this, they participated in a pilot training session, specifically designed for teachers and trainers, led by the designers of the resources and delivered in a multimodal format, with a virtual class then 3 days in person.
These "beta testers" were thus able to update or refresh their skills and knowledge, before discovering the first two modules, "Issues of energy renovation" and "Principles of energy performance", as well as course resources or tutorials adapted to different levels of training, which they can use in their teaching.

What feedback?
One of the main challenges, for the representatives of the FEEBAT program present, was to ensure that the training course intended for teachers and trainers was relevant and that the content and tools developed for initial training were both:
- Adapted to the needs and constraints of teachers and trainers;
- Pedagogical, precise, coherent and accessible in terms of content;
- Attractive for pupils and apprentices.
Objective achieved and confirmed by teachers and “beta testers” trainers, as three of them pointed out in particular:
For Matthieu, Burgundy-Franche-Comté CFA Building trainer - DIJON: “A very nice atmosphere during this session which will have allowed good exchanges between teachers, trainers and leaders of the FEEBAT program. The work accomplished is remarkable. Here we are with adapted, adaptable and scalable content. Can't wait for the deployment of the device! Can't wait to use it with my apprentices! »
For Nicolas, Burgundy-Franche-Comté CFA Building trainer – DIJON: “Thank you for this 3-day training, very rich in exchanges on teaching methods, and congratulations to the whole team for this production of quality courses! »
For Olivier, Les Marcs d'Or high school teacher: “Finally, a well-designed tool that offers resources aimed at both teachers and learners and that allows us to concretely approach the famous energy renovation that we have been told about so far without any real coherence. Thank you FEEBAT! »
On the strength of this initial feedback and that of the pilot sessions last November and February, FEEBAT confirms the consistency and ad hoc positioning of its initial training system for pupils, apprentices and students in the construction sector.
An initial education, at the service of sustainable building, that FEEBAT reinvents in terms of:
- Content, with educational resources dedicated to the major issue of energy renovation, turnkey resources, accessible, consistent, modular;
- Formats, with innovative, multimodal solutions (video, 3D, quiz...), promoting interactivity, appeal and therefore the attention of young people, and which allows adaptability to different course configurations and to the needs of teachers and trainers.
Deployment of the FEEBAT initial training component – Next steps:
The deployment of the training modules "Issues of energy renovation" and "Principles of energy performance" will begin gradually from October 2022, with high school teachers and CFA trainers.
The latter will then be able to use these resources in their teaching, with their pupils, apprentices and students, future building professionals.
