By removing MaPrimeRénov' for wood-fired boilers, the government is delivering the final blow to an already weakened sector.

The abolition of MaPrimeRenov' aid for boilers? Incomprehensible, from every point of view

This decision is edifying, because elected officials from all sides have largely come to the aid of domestic wood energy in the face of attacks in recent months: in 2024, more than 80 parliamentarians protested against the reduction of MaPrimeRenov' credits and in July 2025, almost the entire Higher Council of Energy voted against the reduction of energy saving certificates for wood. In July 2025, the Senate Economic Affairs Committee called for the return of fair support for domestic wood energy. These two texts that the government wants to pass before the confidence vote on September 8 represent nothing more or less than a relentless attack on a sector that provides the cheapest energy on the market!

A budgetary decision? The subsidy for biomass boilers will only amount to €2025 million per year in 20, after successive cuts. €20 million that generates €200 million in work and more than €25 million in tax revenue.

These two texts are also dangerous because they risk permanently destroying the biomass boiler industry, which has already lost 80% of its value in three years. This represents jobs and expertise in the region. The professionals who supply and install them in private homes are the same ones who install boilers in communities or public institutions, and who maintain and repair these appliances in hundreds of thousands of public buildings. Who will provide this service once this part of the industry has disappeared?

The €0 heat pump: the best way to encourage fraud

In addition to being unjustified, these two texts are dangerous. Indeed, at the same time, the very sharp increase in the EEC boost on the CAP proposed by the government brings this support to such amounts that a new fraud machine is being put in place.

For all these reasons, representatives of the sector are firmly opposed to these two projects, as well as to the division by three of CEE credits for wood-fired boilers, passed during the summer.
