Bouygues confirms its 2024 outlook after net profit up since the start of the year

Turnover is up very slightly (+1%) to 41,5 billion euros during the first nine months of the year. The order book is "at a very high level, offering visibility on future activity", the French group indicates in a press release.

The increase in turnover "is mainly driven by Equans (purchased from Engie in 2022, Editor's note) and Bouygues Construction", he specifies. At constant scope and exchange rates, turnover increased by 2% over one year.

This year, Bouygues is targeting a turnover and current operating profit from activities "in slight growth compared to 2023".

The order book for construction activities (Bouygues Construction, Colas, Bouygues Immobilier) reached 31,8 billion euros at the end of September, a "very high level" and up 7% over one year, the group emphasizes.

Bouygues Construction said it had recorded €10,1 billion in orders since January 1, including one in the third quarter in Australia worth more than €2 billion. Its subsidiary Bouygues Travaux Publics announced on Tuesday this contract for the construction of a section of motorway in South Australia, as part of a so-called T2D project, led by a consortium.

This consortium is made up of Bouygues Construction Australia, John Holland, Jacobs, Arcadis and Ventia, and "Bouygues Travaux Publics' share is more than 2 billion euros", the French group specifies.

Equans' order intake stands at €14,1 billion, up in France and internationally, while its revenue is up 3% to €14 billion. Bouygues is counting on 2024 revenue being "slightly higher" than in 2023, followed by an acceleration in organic growth from 2025.

Bouygues Telecom's turnover is stable at 5,7 billion euros, with a "solid performance" in fixed lines and "sustained competition" in mobile with "persistent tensions on purchasing power leading to a migration of customers towards more economical packages".

After obtaining SFR's agreement, Bouygues Telecom indicates that it plans to finalize the purchase of La Poste Telecom "before the end of the year."

Competing company SFR, committed to supplying La Poste Telecom's network until the end of 2026, has waived its right of pre-emption on the shares for sale that it had, Bouygues said. The latter had obtained the green light from the Competition Authority for this acquisition in July.

Bouygues Telecom's revenue billed to customers came to 4,6 billion euros, up 5%. The subsidiary's contribution to the Bouygues group's net profit decreased, falling to 263 million euros, compared to 279 million the previous year.

The telecoms subsidiary gained 82.000 fixed-line customers in the third quarter, as well as 170.000 mobile customers. It now has 5,1 million fixed-line subscribers and 15,8 million mobile customers.

Finally, the TF1 group's turnover, published on October 30, amounts to 1,6 billion euros over the first nine months of 2024, up 2,8% over one year. Despite competition from the Olympic Games broadcast on France Télévisions, the TF1 group confirmed its objectives for the first nine months of the year, thanks in particular to the synergy with its streaming platform launched in January.
