Bouygues Construction and Ecocem announce a global partnership

This partnership marks an important step in their joint commitment to significantly reducing the carbon footprint of construction projects.

Following extensive laboratory testing and rigorous large-scale trials conducted by Bouygues Construction's R&D and Innovation team in collaboration with Ecocem, the aim is to promote and facilitate the use of ACT in Bouygues Construction projects.

A partnership in three stages

The partnership is structured around three main axes allowing, independently, the testing, evaluation and validation of Ecocem's ACT technology:

• Laboratory tests. Bouygues Construction will conduct a comprehensive testing program in its “Engineering and Materials” laboratory, accredited by COFRAC (French Accreditation Committee) to evaluate the performance of ACT technology in laboratory conditions.
• Initial large-scale field testing. Structural concrete walls will be built from early 2025 in winter and summer conditions at Bouygues Construction's Scale One® facilities in Chilly-Mazarin. The walls will be equipped with sensors to ensure rigorous testing throughout the process (preparation, implementation, pouring, maturity measurements and early concrete formwork removal). This step will be supervised by Bouygues Construction teams at Scale One and the Engineering and Materials laboratory.
• The creation of a large-scale model. Once the first tests have been successfully completed, a full-scale model, including all structural components, will be produced on the Scale One® site under normal construction site conditions. This phase will allow a complete evaluation of the use in situ ACT technology, in parallel with the certification of this technology by Ecocem
