The Bouygues group saw its 2021 results approach 2019 levels, before the Covid-19 pandemic, and displays its "confidence" for the future, according to a press release published on February 24.
The French construction and telecoms giant recorded a net profit of 1,125 billion euros last year, or +61,6% compared to 2020 and -4,98% compared to 2019.
Its turnover is 37,589 billion euros, an increase of 8% compared to 2020, but -0,9% compared to 2019.
Of this group, the construction activity (including the public works subsidiary Colas) is at 27,92 billion euros (up 7% compared to 2020). Bouygues Telecom garners 7,256 billion (+13%) and TF1 2,427 billion or +17%.
In 2022, Bouygues expects a further increase in sales and current operating profit compared to 2021.
"Positioned in buoyant markets, the group benefits from the diversity of its activities, plans to improve its margins and recurring cash generation", commented its managing director Olivier Roussat.
According to him, "the planned acquisition of Equans and the merger of TF1 and M6 represent a major step in its history, which will enable it to be even more resilient and to change dimension. Bouygues is part of an excellent dynamic that gives us confidence in the future".
