Bonna Sabla accelerates its transition to low-carbon concrete with the introduction of CEM IV cement

The company now offers, upon request, low-carbon concrete formulated from CEM IV cement, available for all of its products.

Faced with the challenges posed by the ecological transition, the construction sector is evolving rapidly, in search of more responsible solutions.

Reducing the carbon impact of concrete and its main binder, cement, is therefore a concrete solution to reduce the environmental footprint of structures. It is in this context that Bonna Sabla is launching its CEM IV offering, designed to meet the growing needs of construction professionals.

Having already been committed to reducing emissions for several years, Bonna Sabla has expanded the use of CEM II cement across all of its industrial sites. This first step has significantly reduced the carbon footprint of its precast concrete products, while maintaining a level of quality and performance that meets market requirements.

Today, with the switch to CEM IV, a pozzolanic cement, the company is aiming for a further reduction in its carbon emissions.

The integration of CEM IV is fully in line with an eco-responsible construction approach, combining technical performance, durability and reduced environmental impact, without compromising on quality.

The first Bonna Sabla factories to embark on this transition are located in Portbail, Craon, Bruz, and Cinq-Mars-la-Pile, with 100% of its products available in low-carbon versions upon request. Bonna Sabla is thus strengthening its added value for its customers by offering them tailor-made, sustainable, and low-impact solutions.

A global approach to sustainability

Bonna Sabla's low-carbon commitment extends beyond the adoption of CEM IV. The company is also implementing concrete actions across its entire production and logistics chain:

• 11% increase in short-circuit transport modes.
• 75% of partner carriers departing from pilot sites use biofuels.
• Use rail transport when possible.
• Use of recycled aggregates.
• Reduction in the amount of silica in the aggregates.
• Recovery and reuse of rainwater for production.
